In kindergarten, I sat next to this boy named Eddie. He had a perfectly oval shaped head and his hair looked grey. He made my blood boil and I hated the way he looked. He was always kicking my chair and he broke my plastic purple ruler in half. Dumb Eddie ate Chef Boyardee Spaghetti everyday like some kind of stupid idiot. I was a Beefaroni kind of girl. Everyone knows the Beefaroni is better than the spaghetti and it was an unfortunate day for him when I figured out how well his name rhymed with his lunch. Eddie Spaghetti was born and it spread like wild fire. Such a proud, clever, moment for me was ruined by stupid, ugly eddie spaghetti crying to the teacher and landing me in the “Take A Break” chair for what felt like a 9 hour hell. He was ruining everything, again. I think Eddie was my first my boyfriend. I probably loved him.

I just had a “HOLY SHIT” moment interrupt my usual  blurry-eyed, dazed RSS run-through. Mid scroll I thought oh “Laura May has those Balenciaga boots”, then bam! photo cred? Hands down the best thing to happen to the action sports/fashion crossover Ive ever seen. Mind blown.

Here are the photos I slacked on having developed from our trip. We went to Seattle for the sole reason that neither of us had been there before- So we fly in on friday, with no plans what-so-ever and barely made our flight home on Sunday. I’d like post about all the sights we saw and incredible things we did but the whole trip was kind of a blood mary induced fog. I know at some point I feel asleep in the back of what I think was a scion XB, while wearing an very small pricy white dress that had sauce all over it while Blake and our new friends broke into the Cobain estate and battled spirits.. or something. I actually have no idea but I was covered in bruises by Monday.

Pike Place, or whatever its called, and the amazing french restaurant directly on top of the fish market for smelling like baguettes, having an incredible view and great bloody marys.

Its funny that you bring up Nastygal because I generally try to avoid that site. Not because I dislike the brands they carry but clothes for me are about feeling special and different due to their site’s overwhelming success (and small catalog) its hard for me to find things there that I haven’t already seen 9x on my walk from Trader Joes to the Cha Cha. I really only shop at three online retailers. Depending on what my budget is I cycle through Karmaloop, Pixie Market, and Opening Ceremony.

Whats a cool fashion blog?

I recently added Love Aesthetics to my google reader.
She has big eyes, a greyscale color scheme and cool hair.

What kind of style would you say you have? What are your favorite brands?

This is question is rough ala “what kind of music do you listen to”. I wear a lot of black and I think I look weird in anything ironed or too colorful. During the week I honestly spend most of my days in leggings and a tank top because of work. I have to have things that are easy to take on and off quickly. When Im out I usually wear leather and some kind of velvet, silk, denim staple combo. I have nice things and they almost always have a hole in them.

Sometimes Ill crank out a few things when Ive got time to split between sharpies and a bottle of 2 buck but Im not selling graphics anymore. I kind of lost interest in it for awhile and I hope it comes back.

Im going to pretend youre asking me about work here and I dont really have a direct answer. I try on clothes, I do some consulting, I get my photo taken and Im in the process of developing web content for the newly launching e-magazine style recovery blog.  I always have too much on my plate for a girl who’s always hungry.

Anyway, unless youve been sleeping under a technological rock (ie: youre still content lurking facebook status updates about the girls you kinda wanted to be hated in highschool getting knocked up out of wedlock and photos of aunt nina’s island vacation) you probably have an instagram. I have one that I should probably check about 90x less than I do but personally I am willing to milk every last ounce of my phones battery, waiting for my friends to show me what theyve been eating for breakfast so I can hate them. And then in return myself because I’m empty bellied and too hung over to move and I would decapitate the next fat cute pug you post a photo of to eat ANYTHING with hollandaise sauce on it.

With the app’s increasing popularity, a lot of fashion bloggers have been using instagram as an outlet. (which will in turn eventually lead to complete abandonment in time by the social media overachieving “I did it first”s). In the same way that some bloggers use a “lookbook.nu” style, Ive noticed tons of girls(a lot of randoms and a few big time bloggers) popping up on instagram with “What I wore” today type posts. Kind of cool. I Think. Its at least a welcome break from the constant reminder that I’m still hungry. Starving while writing this post, in fact.

Anyway, you get where Im going with this post by now:  instagram is cool, people are on it, some people have cool clothes we can look at.  Below are a few screenshots of some cool girls Ive come across just this past week or so.

Love: I feel like I’m the last person who should be giving advice on this. The second I feel those idiotwarmgut feelings my eyes dart toward the nearest exit. my brain and the internet have been out for a week due to .. storms.

Im in the process of trying to convince my boyfriend that I need leg hair to keep warm in this frigid southern California winter- I havent actually told him this yet though, Im hoping he just reads this blog post and, because of our deep connection into each others psyche, he will just “get it”(boyfriend guilt vote). Having just shaved my legs minutes ago, I can say I am significantly colder and therefore uncomfortable(sympathy vote). Im really just looking for any excuse here to aid my laziness (human vote).
