“Where to start? Last November I took a trip to Shanghai to do some research on a future project. It was a learning experience, to say the least. What I learned from that trip I took with me as I worked long days and nights with my design partner, Heidi (whose previous design background includes Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane), to produce a 7-10 piece capsule collection. And to form what is now our very first label, The Fashion Club.

This label is truly a labor of love. The zippers are RiRi, the cashmere is Loro Piana, and the wool… well… let’s talk about the wool, shall we? Luxurious mohair and boiled wool previously next to impossible to find in the United States. But since everything is made in the US, it’s been a such pleasure to contribute to the demand for more quality fabrics.

At the heart of it, we wanted to make clothes for our friends. To cut through the noise and produce a collection that really got what the modern girl is. A MA-1 bomber in ivory mohair, a red cashmere crop top, the perfect pair of suit-quality wool peplum pants… It’s high fashion ideas deciphered and translated for the streets.

Ok Ok, I guess my last post left some things to be explored, it most certainly left me with some weird emails so in response to those I took photos of things I eat everyday. Literally, this is what I eat EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. This works for me. I dont know If it will work for you. Again there is no “magic” here. If theres a burrito or something Im planning on having Ill have a fruit bowl for breakfast and the burrito for dinner then its back on the grind the next day.

These items are zero calorie foods for me, I can eat as much of them as I want and it has no affect. Its the processed food that I crave and smash on sometimes that I find actually makes my weight fluctuate. ie: 4000 calories in raw nuts vs a 400 calorie snack bag of doritos, those Doritos stick to me like my fingers to a donut in my dreamland.

REALLY THOUGH SERIOUSLY EAT WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT WHO GIVES A SHIT. If my job didn’t depend on my waistline I would be eating pizza and pancakes on the reg. but that isn’t life for me right now. Im not writing a how to guide on dietings just simply sharing my insight but honestly if you guys tried doing this 2 days a week I bet most of you would lose a couple of pounds. And before you ask, this daily intake is around 2100 calories before the wine. We all know theres no calories in alcohol and free food.

1: I eat so much trailmix its disgusting delicious. This one is the best. Ive even gotten to the point of ordering it in bulk from the website. Raw cashews, peanuts, brazil nuts, rolled dates, raisins, banana chips, apricots #DAVISLEWIS4LIFE

2: Wholefoods salad bar. I always get the “no oil” items that are clearly marked on the labels. This is steamed kale, raw broc, steamed asparagus, chick peas, and pickled beets. I love beets and theyre really good for you. Anyway, no dressing. Lemon juice and soy sauce that shit. People dont get how good steamed veggies are, throw some marinara sauce on that and its perfect. Im a sauce queen. I can convince myself Im eating a burger if some zucchini is seasoned right and theres a pickle on it.

3: fruit bowls. every grocery store has them for around $3.50 and if youre not a lazy pile like me you can cut your own fruit and save $$ but personally I pay for the luxury of having my food sliced. In fact, if I could pay someone to feed it to me as well I’d probably do that too.

4: a mediocre trail mix because I was in a hurry and couldnt find the good stuff, coke zero, bottle of cab, good night.

Yea, he might need to be reminded of your birthday coming up only a few times.. but if youre having sex and overall comfortable.. you’ve probably got a good one or at least one that’ll do for now… If you quit expecting shit when he finally does come through with a batch of flowers it’ll be extra nice and you will feel fulfilled.. Or whatever. Get a bestfriend, get a cat, get a bottle of wine and, as for the doors and chairs, grow arms?

“how do you stay so thin?” This is the most annoying question you can ask a skinny girl, like there’s some sort of poptart diet we’ve been keeping secret.There’s no trick out there.

I feel like Ive been asked this question enough times to be able to weigh in here. Honestly, I don’t really eat. I like to put good things in my body (whole raw foods) and Im active (..enough..), but overall I dont eat very much. I probably eat in an undisciplined fashion 6 times a year, 4 of which are “FUCKKK IM WASSSSSSTEEEEED Oo0o0HHH, BURRITO!” One is my birthday and the other is a first date (because this is no platform to divulge anything out of the ordinary to a potential(pleaselovemepleasepleasepleaseloveme) suitor).

It takes legitimate hard work and piles of self discipline to remain thin.

So next time you, RIGHT before you ask that size 0-4 buddy of yours what her “secret” is.. think back on those onion rings or pasta you enjoyed last week. She didnt have that.

The last few months have been the most trying times of my life. Ive always felt so secure in knowing that, at least, I knew who I was.. or what I was doing. But after being blind sided by such loss it’s hard to feel comfortable in my own skin. Its strange waking up every single day with such a weight in the dead center of my chest. It kind of burns off at some point when the stress of work and what not taking over around mid-day and then bam, complete exhaustion and sleep. And while I havent had any issues going to bed, I havent been able to sleep in.. or even past 8 on most mornings. In a way, not being able to fall asleep tonight is kind of a welcome change. It actually feels kind of normal.

I think I have a hellish workday that starts in about 6 hours. It’d be slightly less hellish if I drove. I guess thats the first time Ive been comfortable admitting to myself that my choice to stop driving all together is somewhat ridiculous. Its much harder breaking a promise to your best friend so I’ve
promised Liz I’d only let myself do this for one more month. Today on the bus I was pretty sure Sly Stalone circa 1985 was sitting right behind me. I wish I had a photo to post but that was Stalone’s most dangerous era so I didn’t want to risk it. Im sure you understand and if you dont you’re just not American.

I hate when people respond to my “Hey, Who is this?” text with that confrontational “Who is this?” I mean, at that point its clear to both parties that neither of us(me) cared enough at the initial information exchange to write down a real name in the contact book and youre saved as “LBarOutsideinhat”, so fess up. I asked first and youre still the same person regardless of who I am.

Im trying to decide whats better: Dried Papaya trail mix or having an orgasm. I assume the winner is which ever you happen to be partaking in at the very moment the question pops up.. and… not to make this weird or anything… but this trail mix is bomb.

Only spend big money on staple shoes and outerwear (jackets and coats) these are items you’ll end up wearing for ages and can transition from season to season.

Don’t be afraid to get things tailored. Dry cleaners will taper your jeans into skinny jeans for 3-5 bucks. It’s your body and your clothes should fit you right.

Just because you can squeeze into a stretchy size small doesn’t mean you are one. Sizing up rather than down in tops actually makes you look thinner.

Be yourself. If you try dressing a certain way and aren’t wearing something you are comfortable in, it’ll come off looking like a costume. Own it. It’s your life and you only have one shot at it. So instead of chasing what you wanna look/dress like, just do it. People may question you decision to dress like a clown but no one questions confidence.

I have lilac hair right now and I’m wearing red velvet leggings. 4 years ago I would have thought this was ridiculous but this morning I felt like looking like this, so here I am.

I have a huge problem with holding onto things. My clothes dont even take up a small closet and i hate them all. I could blame it on my boyfriend who has issues with with things such like low cut shirts, but i wont do that.

Your boyfriend is just being protective. As men age they stop hoarding their women(being whiny babies) to wanting to parade them around a bit. Its an ego thing. This is a broad generalization, though. In 7th grade or something, I wore a tank top to the skatepark and my boyfriend lost his mind. Made me wear his sweater in the 80 degree florida swamp weather for the rest of the night and I nearly melted. I could go into further detail about how I was afraid to ever makeout with him so I wired my braces shut but we’ll save that for another day. So.., You know what I do with a skimpy top? I wear it with covered legs. Like jeans. Same goes with little shorts. I wear them with a giant oversized top. It keeps you looking less like a right slut, although there’s nothing wrong with looking like a slut from time to time, either. As long as you dont end up with an STD along the way and well, shit, if you do.. theres probably a cream for that…

I’m DYING to be blonde, but being a teacher, I have to stay somewhat conservative, which fucking sucks. Does it damage your hair terribly? I have NO idea what’s involved…so pardon my ignorance.

Honestly anyone trying to go lighter, or blonde, NEEDS TO SEE SOMEONE PROFESSIONALLY. SERIOUSLY, YOULL FUCK YOUR SHIT UP. LOVE, SOMEONE WHO HAS FUCKED THEIR SHIT UP.

In kindergarten, I sat next to this boy named Eddie. He had a perfectly oval shaped head and his hair looked grey. He made my blood boil and I hated the way he looked. He was always kicking my chair and he broke my plastic purple ruler in half. Dumb Eddie ate Chef Boyardee Spaghetti everyday like some kind of stupid idiot. I was a Beefaroni kind of girl. Everyone knows the Beefaroni is better than the spaghetti and it was an unfortunate day for him when I figured out how well his name rhymed with his lunch. Eddie Spaghetti was born and it spread like wild fire. Such a proud, clever, moment for me was ruined by stupid, ugly eddie spaghetti crying to the teacher and landing me in the “Take A Break” chair for what felt like a 9 hour hell. He was ruining everything, again. I think Eddie was my first my boyfriend. I probably loved him.

I just had a “HOLY SHIT” moment interrupt my usual  blurry-eyed, dazed RSS run-through. Mid scroll I thought oh “Laura May has those Balenciaga boots”, then bam! photo cred? Hands down the best thing to happen to the action sports/fashion crossover Ive ever seen. Mind blown.
